Rich Mullins...the ultimate songwriter and musician who can sum up the wonder of God's world in one sentence....
"God invented Green."
From "The Color Green" by the late, great Rich Mullins...
Be Praised for all Your tenderness,
By these works of Your hands,
Suns that rise and rains that fall to bless,
and bring to life Your land.
Look down upon this winter wheat,
and be glad that You have made,
blue for the sky, and the color green,
that fills these fields with praise.

Intelligent Design
So, it's funny that I heard a news story about Intelligent Design today since I have been thinking about it more since I started taking a science class this semester. The more I studied our world and it's natural order along with the human body in all of it's wonder, I keep thinking, this is not a chemical accident. There is NO way. Just the multitude of processes that the human body performs every day to keep us alive is amazing. Don't even get me started on DNA replication, transcription and translation. It's awe inspiring.
Some scientists say that the more they study science, the less the believe in God. I am the exact opposite. The more I have studied science, the more I believe in God. It's just so amazing, that's all I can say.
So, then comes the idea of Intelligent Design. It's an interesting idea that I want to research more about but there is a new movie starring Ben Stein. You know, "Bueller, Bueller"...(Ferris Bueller's Day Off). Well, he's starring in a documentary about Intelligent Design and how mainstream science and "others" are trying to black list scientists who believe in this idea and keep it under wraps. The documentary is called Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed and I plan to try to see it soon. I'll let ya know what I think...

Feeling a Little Stressed...
I'm feeling a little stressed today. I took my last "official" Biology test today. A lab exam. I got a 96, so I'm happy about that. I then found out that my Bio Nazi teacher is giving us not one, but TWO final exams next week. Yes, two finals. Where does HCC find these people?
I also have not even started on my Comp final which is a five page paper due Monday night and I haven't started studying for any of the other finals (math, psych).
I'm going nuts!!

Little Miley Cyrus

What the hell are people thinking? She's 15, not 35!!! Personally, I would like to see women of all ages come to embrace the fact that they do not have to pose for a photo with nothing but a blanket covering their body but that's just not what our society dictates. But, a 15 year old girl? Give me a break.
The only thing I know to say is shame on you Billy Ray Cyrus for allowing this to happen to your daughter in the first place. I realize she's resurrected your "one hit wonder" career from the grave but be a freaking parent! That's your most important job. Please, don't be another "Lindsay Lohan Mom" and allow your children to do stupid things because it allows you to do the same stupid things. Don't live through her popularity. She doesn't need you to be a BFF, she needs a parent. Shame on you Annie Leibovitz for envisioning a photograph that is basically soft core kiddie porn. Shame on you Vanity Fair for publishing what is basically soft core kiddie porn. I mean, who wants to look at a 15 year old, adolescent girl in that kind of photo except a pedophile? Don't give me the old "it's art" crap either. In my opinion, that argument makes no sense. Find an adult woman who makes the choice to take that kind of photograph and don't take advantage of young girls. Why isn't law enforcement all over this??
Well, I guess I did know what to say after all...

Mariah Carey Lipping?
I saw this Mariah Carey performance on GMA this morning. At 1:02 it looks like she misses a line. From 2:55 to 3:03 it looks like she misses a line and then at 3:05 she sings "stop singing my part" to make it look like a back up singer sang her line when really the track was off. At least that's what the rumor is....You be the judge..
Hairspray
I admit that I absolutely love the movie "Hairspray". It is funny, has great songs, and it tackles two extremely important issues. We have Tracy, the fat girl heroine who snags the cute little guy, Link. Tracy thinks it's okay to be different and goes for her dreams despite what anyone thinks. Also, we see Baltimore in 1962 and the early civil rights movement. AND...I just adore James Marsden as Corny Collins, the host of The Corny Collins Show, a teenage dance show. He just oozes cheese and is, well, corny! He's got a great voice too! If you haven't seen the movie, check it out!
